IS IT EPILEPSY OR IS IT WITCHCRAFT?According to Epilepsy,Epilepsy is a common condition that affects approximately one in 103 people. It is usually diagnosed in childhood and in  people over the age of 65, but it can affect anyone.
But the only visible symptom of epilepsy is recurrent seizures, and these are caused by too much electrical activity in groups of neurons in the brain.
How a person behaves during a seizure will depend upon the area of their brain that is affected. There are two main types of seizures, Generalized seizures and focal. Generalized seizures  involve larger areas of the brain, while focal seizures affect a specific region.
There are many ancient myths about epilepsy and many of them still believed strongly in different parts of the world. At various times, people with epilepsy were shunned, locked up in mental institutions or forbidden to marry or have children.
Seizures were thought to be caused by witchcraft, insanity, possession by demons, feeble-mindedness, even masturbation. Today, seizures in developing countries cannot be controlled in many families because the patients or parents cannot pay for medication to control these seizures so as a result the blame has to be put on someone or something.
Today, many wonderful talents in the world of Business, Politics, Media, Drama, music are hidden from us, because many are afraid they will be tagged witches, or said to be demon possessed, and as a result may be beaten to death.
Friends, remember that you are the light of the world, a city set on a hill cannot be hidden. We need to come together to enlighten people around epileptic patients,  Cause this is our world too.
